“How was your opening weekend?”

It was great to see so many familiar faces and to get back into the swing of serving fantastic food. I'm really amazed at how our team pulls things together and can get ready to go from 0 to 60 in such a small amount of time.

The opening night was a blast with perfect weather and a lots of locals coming back to check out what is new at the Shack. What is new? The largest change that you will notice right off the bat is that we added an awning over the waiting/bar area to give us some coverage on those not so nice nights. It really turned out great.

With regards to the menu, we have kept many of the staples and will continue to run nightly specials that feature even more local products than what is already on our comprehensive menu. The "local Cod cake" appetizer is a real nice addition and is a must try.

We are working hard to get the Truro store open and Alex says he thinks Wednesday will be the day. We have enlarged our lobster storage and will be adding fresh cuts of high quality meats. A new meat case fits in nicely and we can't wait to bring in some products.

Opening work has begun at Mac's Seafood on the Wellfleet Town Pier. Sanding, painting, and lots of clean up to get everything looking top notch. With this being our 16th season, you would think we can just walk in and turn the lights on! Not the case at all. There is always so much to do, especially when we want to continually make improvements to our building and menu. Check back soon for some new ideas for the pier menu! If there is something that you would like to see us try, or bring back, let us know. We are always looking for new ideas to try.
