Haddock

(Melanogrammus aeglefinus)

Haddock range from Cape May to Nova Scotia.  A member of the cod family, Haddock fillets are firm and slightly sweet with a delicate white flake.

  • Look for haddock presented skin-on: it has a distinct black line running the length of its grey-white sides.
  • Fishwatch––the National Marine Fisheries Service sustainability report––lists haddock as sustainably harvested, with the population at George's bank improving in recent years.
