True to our roots, we set out to push the limits of quality with Mac's Shack, without adding the layers of pretension that usually accompany such places. The result is a unique and lovable place to eat, where it's not uncommon to see guests return 3 or 4 times in a one week period.
Our Sushi, under the masterful eye of Ichi-san, rivals the best. Our Raw bar features the wild Wellfleet Oyster – the reigning queen of Oysters. And our kitchen, led by MacGregor Hay, strives to outdo itself each night with creative ways to serve the finest quality food available. At the same time we have not lost sight of the Cape Cod "shack" standards.
When asked about his meals, Mac responds, "Impeccably fresh seafood liberates the creative cooking process, allowing the dish to be simple, revealing true and natural flavors. At the same time, a fresh product can be used as the focal point of a more complex dish that layers ingredients and flavors while not overshadowing the essence of freshness."
The open, casual atmosphere outside by the raw bar and in the dining room contribute to warm camaraderie without distracting from the star of the evening – the food.
